You guys know by now that I have a new baby and an almost 5 year old. If you have children too then you definitely feel my struggles of not having a moment to yourself or finding time to relax. As mothers and also just as women, we need to find the time to relax and enjoy the little pleasures in life. I know it’s hard to do because we always feel the need to get all the things done around our house etc. It’s especially hard when you’re a type-A person and just can’t learn to sit still. You HAVE to make time for you to do not only things that you enjoy but also activities that help put your mind at ease.
A few of my tricks I’ve learned to help put my mom brain at ease:
Read a good therapeutic book. I’m personally loving “Hustle and Heart.” I’m joining up with Kail Lowry for her Virtual Book Tour in honor of her new book. Also, if you’re in the Baltimore area, you can meet Kail in person at her book signing March 25th at noon at John Hopkins University Barnes and Noble. Make sure you visit these other awesome posts from this virtual blog tour that are listed below. Kail discusses her life struggles growing up and as a mom. Her book is full of “motivational messages, personal advice and relatable experiences for those making their way through life’s challenging mix of joy and hardship.” Sometimes, you just need to know you’re not alone. It’s inspiring to read similar struggles of others to really process life. Check it out mommas.
Go to a sauna, steam room or a Sweat House. The steam room or sauna always helps to clear my head. Sweating out the toxins gives you a profound sense of relaxation/release as your entire body starts to eliminate irritability along with helping your cramped muscles and nerves begin to dissipate. The far infrared sauna helps to reduce physical stress by boosting blood circulation. I personally love the Sweat House in Green Hills. I have never left there feeling less than extraordinary. If you live in the Nashville area and you haven’t been…do yourself a favor and GO!
Touching on the sweat it out… go to the gym. I know personally that running to the gym is my favorite way to decompress. Whether it be going for a run, hitting up a yoga class or boxing it out. All of these things increase your endorphins and help you release all of your built up tension. Exercise is not only good for your mind, it’s clearly good for your body so it’s a win win situation. Earn that summer bod. Also you better believe you’re gonna sleep like a champ. Exercise helps with concentration and anxiety so it is good for us ladies since we tend to stress a lot more than men.
Have a glass of wine and watch a new show on Netflix or a movie. I seriously look forward to my nightly glass of wine so I can wind down from my day. I put my kids to bed around 8, pour myself a glass of wine (actually I kindly ask my hubby to do so) and kick my feet up to watch my “shows.” Tonight it was Walking Dead and Big Little Lies. I sometimes think of all of the things I could get accomplished and I would be lying if I said I didn’t do the occasional load of laundry, dishes and food prep. (I told you I can’t sit still very well) However, I cherish that glass of wine every night, it has became like a savior to me. Oh and my tv shows, I’m an addict. I won’t quit them. Ever.
Oh bubble baths…how I love thee. Actually I had one today for the first time in forever. Bubbles, epsom salt and champagne. I was in a state of euphoric bliss until my 4 year old walked in and started throwing toys in my bathtub wanting to play. With that being said, maybe wait until the kids go to bed. Have a glass of bubbly and light some candles. Here are my favorite bubble bath (so elegant) and candles.
Get your booty outside. Speaking from someone who suffers from not only anxiety, but from a vitamin D deficiency, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it’s highly beneficial to your health to get some sun in your life. Don’t just trust me though, it’s medically proven y’all. Just make sure you wear sunscreen because no one has time for those pesky wrinkles. No sir.
Time With Your Girlfriends
Make time for your friends. I know what you’ll say because I say it too. “I’m tired or I don’t wanna get ready” Suck it up buttercup. You’ve been around tiny life sucking humans all day. I know you’re craving adult interaction like no other. So give the mail lady a break. You deserve a decent conversation and some grub, a movie or drinks with your girls. I have two kids, one is only 3 months old and I have already had like 4 girl nights. That’s unheard of I know, but you have to make time. You’ll thank me. Sometimes it’s just nice to get out of the house, put some makeup on and feel human again.
Date Night Out
Ok my last piece of advice is this: Go on a date with your husband/boyfriend. You HAVE to make time in your relationship after kids otherwise you’ll be like ghosts to each other. Passing each other in the halls, working on your computers at night side by side. I pretty much just explained my hubs and I day to day with our new baby but even then we dedicate time to each other by going on a date at least every 2-3 weeks. It’s a necessity. Get out of the house in your fancy new dress and remember why you made those babies to begin with. Love. Sometimes a night out with your partner can be all you need to forget the worries of the world.
I hope this gave you some ideas or at least helped you see most of us moms are a complete mess that need a mental time out here and there. Check out Kail’s book and also the great pages listed above. Xoxo.
As of today my little mermaid is 3 months old. These past three months feel like they’ve flown by but also like they dragged on. That’s odd I know. Every day feels like it will never end when you have a newborn. You’re sleep deprived and it feels like it’s always gonna be this way. Then one day you wake up and your baby is 3 months old. It hits you out of nowhere. Plus my oldest turns 5 next month. Times flies y when you’re a parent.
Charlie was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 8 weeks old so the past 4 weeks have definitely been an adjustment. She was put in a Pavlik harness the day she was diagnosed. I’m not gonna lie and say it was easy. I even cried because no one wants to see their child impaired in the slightest. I’m aware things could be much worse but it’s hard enough being a mother to a newborn without facing any type of hardship. You ‘re sleep deprived, your body has been destroyed, you’re constantly feeding, changing and caring for your baby. The hardest part honestly is changing her diaper but I’ve learned to master it. I was also pretty sad I couldn’t put her in any of the cute outfits I had for her. She can only wear onesies under the harness because her feet and legs are covered with the braces. The good news is that she gets them off in about 3 weeks. It could’ve been so much worse if we caught it later. If you have a newborn, are pregnant or know someone with a newborn then please please make sure you use hip friendly products like Embe & Halo sleep swaddles and carrier such as Lille Baby and Ergo.
She’s such a happy baby. She smiles so much. She loves her big sister. She literally lights up when she walks in the room. I can’t wait to see that relationship build and grow. She is now starting to laugh and can follow me with her eyes. I was scared to have another child because I never knew my heart could grow like it has.
I’m a tad late to the game but I suppose that’s what happens when you have multiple kids. I just now received my birth announcements from Tiny Prints and they turned out spectacular. I love the option to feed in all of your addresses from Excel. I also ordered these cute personalized stamps of the kids to send out with our cards to friends and family. I mean look how cute these are. I also opted for scalloped edges and the pearl white shimmer. Currently you can get 40% off with code Candles and free shipping on orders over $49 with code freeship49 so if I were you, I would act on it quick!
Ok first off let me start by saying the best thing a mom can get for Valentine’s Day or any holiday for that matter is a day off from momming. Clean house, clean dishes, clean laundry, kids fed and taken care of, all meals taken care of and a bubble bath with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries wouldn’t hurt. Oh and a massage & spa day. Ok I’m done.
However, IF you wanna get some unique gifts, I’ve got you covered from a mom’s and wife’s standpoint.
We all know mommas love their wine. It’s basically a need along with coffee every day for me and most moms. I’m loving these cute wine glasses, t-shirts and coffee mugs from Banky Girl Creations. I have the “This is my ME time” wine glass and the “Because Kids” coffee mug because well, it’s freaking true. I need coffee because of my children and wine is definitely my me time haha.
I’m not a huge jewelry person but what I do love is personalized jewelry that means something to me. When I heard of Capsul Jewelry and that you can get a necklace or bracelet like THIS, I was sold. So the absolutely cool thing about these necklaces and bracelets is not only that you can customize them to say what you choose, but you can also get in personalized handwriting. I submitted my handwriting to have my name made into a necklace and I can’t wait to see it. I also wanna get my hubs to choose something like I LOVE YOU and put it in his handwriting, I think that would be a very special keepsake. Or even better, if your children can write (mine can’t) then have them do it.
Obsessed with these adorable canvas totes and makeup bags for traveling by Adorn Lee. They have the cutest sayings on them and I carry them everywhere even when I’m not traveling. They have multiple sizes.
These mini druzy studs from Luxa jewelry are staples. You can dress them up or dress them down. I love their boho jewelry.
Mommas love makeup but typically we don’t have time to get all dolled up each day. It’s super easy however to throw on a fun shade of colored lip gloss to give your look a little pow. I’m loving Frankie Rose Cosmetics liquid lipstick. Plus it’s an 8 hour wear because I don’t have time to keep re-applying 😉
In case you don’t get a spa day and even if you do…you definitely need some pampering from Spa Splurge. I personally love their Black Lace Collagen, Gold Collagen Under Eye and Collagen Breast Masks. They are full of anti aging properties and the breast mask is also wonderful for breastfeeding mommas like myself. I can personally attest to the amazing quality of these masks, Simply amazing. My aesthetician recommended them to me and I’m hooked.
What mother doesn’t love pictures of her babies? Of her family? I’m not kidding, I would wallpaper my house in photos if my hubs would let me. I love seeing photos of all the people I love every day. These frames from Framebridge make a perfect Valentine’s Day gift. They are such great quality and it’s so easy to just upload your photos directly to their site and have them ship them to you. I bought two regular sized frames (gold and gold bamboo) and two instagram minis and can’t wait to put them up in my living room. I can’t wait to order more when we have family photos done next month. Ohhh don’t forget to use my code NASHWIFE15for 15% off your first order.
Like I said…I love personalized jewelry. I love that you can put whatever you want on these rings from Shay Designs. (I also love their necklaces) I have two with my daughter’s names on them.
I’m not kidding, I own 4 sweatshirts and 3-4 tees from ILY Couture. They are so soft and so classic. One of my favorite are the Wifeyones even though clearly I love them all. Plus my mom is the best life sweatshirt is on sale!!!
The perfect spa day at home essentials are THIS robe, THESE candles and one of THESE bath bombs. Then shut the door and let her be. These candles are all over my house and smell divine. I can’t get enough.
Enjoy your Valentine’s Day my loves! It’s just another day so no pressure but definitely spend it with the ones you love and cherish Xoxo.
You would think because I already have a child I would be completely prepared when it comes to baby needs. Uh a little bit I guess but so many new things have came out since I had K almost 5 years ago. I did a lot of research on what’s new and what’s worth it so I wanted to share my findings. I also plan on doing a part two because these are for the first few months and honestly, I couldn’t fit everything single thing I wanted in this round up. There have been so many new developments. Also gonna give some honorable mentions because I think they are amazing but Baby C didn’t agree. (That doesn’t mean your baby won’t, they’re picky that way) So….let’s dig into it, shall we?
This is the #1 – rated infant car seat and features premium zipper accents for added style and convenience. It is intended for newborns from 4-30 lbs with a newborn insert 4-11 lbs. We love our Chicco Key-fit infant seat. Also we purchased the Liteway Plus Stroller which is compatible with the carseat and you can use it as a sturdy umbrella stroller when the baby is big enough. Umbrella strollers are usually so flimsy and the other strollers are so bulky. This was a happy medium for us and it fits in the smaller trunk of my car with room to spare. Plus it’s easy to pop up and down for quick trips in the mall etc.
“The KeyFit® 30 Zip also features a quick – remove seat pad that is machine – washable for easy cleanup. One – pull harness tightening and loosening in the car seat allow for quick fitting, and the infant insert gives extra support for a smaller baby.”
Hands down one of my favorite new products I’ve discovered, if not my most favorite one. Before Charlie was born I wanted a Halo bassinet (honorable mention #1) beside my bed because I didn’t wanna put her in her crib in another room for a few months. A friend of mine asked if I had heard of the Dockatot and I said I had not. (It came out since my last child) I looked it up but didn’t think much of it again, being very confident my baby would sleep in her bassinet. Guess what?! She didn’t. She had 20 minute bursts of sleep and that was it. So luckily I had received a Dockatot and started letting her nap in that beside of me. Um, golden. I’m not kidding. They aren’t paying me to say good things, but I am. It is the only thing my daughter will sleep in. The worst part is I fear she will outgrow it before long so I am upgrading to the bigger one.
Plus, good news for ole paranoid me is we can safely co-sleep. I keep my hand on her almost all night. Yes I’m aware I’m a tad crazy. It has been safety tested and is 100% breathable. It’s protective sides aid back positioning while preventing the baby from rolling out of bed, getting caught between the bed and the wall, or wriggling down under the covers. The sides also prevent the parents from rolling on top of the baby. Also unlike soft adult mattresses, the firm Sleepyhead® mattress reduces the risk of suffocation. You can view it’s approved safety standards HERE.
Here are it’s many, many benefits: perfect for traveling or moving room to room, helps transitioning to bed when older, helps with tummy time. We are obsessed.
I may not have two babies but my older child is lazy and still uses a stroller when we go to Disney or the zoo. It was a no brainer that I would need to invest in a double stroller for the two. I love the Cosatto Supa Dupa stroller because well for starters look at all the fun patterns, but most importantly it accommodates newborns with its newborn nester and also older children. One of my favorite features is Supa Dupa’s multimedia gadget pocket with speaker plus ‘Window-on-the-World’ hood display pockets for pictures or films to entertain children. You can stand it upright when not in use and also it’s lightweight aluminium chassis with carry handle makes transportation a breeze. Read all about the features HERE. There are so many cool things about this stroller.
One of the most annoying things about running around with a newborn that can’t sit up is lugging around that heavy infant seat. Also let’s talk about how unsafe it is to sit the carseat at the front of the cart because it risks falling off. Then if you try to put it inside the cart, you have no room for your groceries, etc. Binxy Baby easily clips onto most shopping carts and hangs elevated so you have plenty of room for groceries while securing your baby. After your done, it rolls up to fit in your purse or diaper bag. It also meets or exceeds all applicable safety standards.
Most of my friends didn’t have kids yet when I was pregnant the first time. When I became pregnant with Charlie I asked them what was their favorite baby item since things had changed so much in five years. One of the consistent answers is the Fisher Price Rock N Play. Every single person said their children napped so well in it. I was sent one a few weeks ago and they were right. This particular one I received is too cool for school though because it has a remote control from your smart phone, rocks by itself and has a projection on the canopy. I mean, it’s pretty awesome.
Our daughter was diagnosed with hip dysplasia last week and we didn’t realize most infant carriers aren’t “hip healthy.” Luckily we had a Lille baby carrier and as you can see in the photo above, both legs are in a hip friendly position. The Lille baby carrier has solid support for your baby and you, while it also easily transforms as your child grows (from birth through the toddler years.) The lumbar support is amazing for your health, especially if you have back problems like I do.
Yes, I am that crazy Pinterest mom that makes her baby’s food. Or at least I was with K for the first few months. I fully intend on it with Charlie too, especially since I keep hearing all of these recall alerts on baby food. I’ve tried a couple different options, including my Vitamix. The Babycook Pro prepares healthy meals for your child in 15 minutes. You can prepare 18 servings in one batch. Not only does it puree baby food, but it also blends in many different sizes. On top of all that, you can use it to defrost food and warm /sterilize bottles. Clean up is quick plus it’s top rack dishwasher safe.
I also have the Beaba Multiportions to freeze and store foods. This is a baby food game changer.
Attention crazy paranoid moms like myself. This thing will save your sanity…or make you more obsessive, I’m not sure which one is better. I personally would rather be obsessive than constantly checking to see if my baby is breathing. Wait I guess that’s also defined as obsessive. Oh well, it makes me feel better to know I have covered all my bases to keep my baby bug safe. The Owlet is a smart sock connected to your phone or tablet designed to notify you if your baby’s oxygen levels or heart rate fall out of range. It also has clinically proven technology. You probably know it at the little red light that they clip on your finger at the doctor’s office.
Hopefully you can get better rest at night knowing it’s designed to notify you right on your phone. Because let’s be honest, who doesn’t sleep with their phone right beside them?! Because let’s be honest, who doesn’t sleep with their phone right beside them?! ! The wireless Smart Sock comes in multiple sizes to grow with baby and fits snugly on their foot while it tracks their heart rate and oxygen levels while sleeping. Here is a list of frequently asked questions.
Like I said before, our little one was diagnosed with hip dysplasia last week. Hip dysplasia is a problem with formation of the hip joint. Causes can include family history, babies in breech position and low or lack of amniotic fluid (Charlotte’s case). Even if your baby was not born with it, improper swaddling can also result in HD. The outcome later in life can result in surgery to realign bones or a hip replacement. This Embe Baby Swaddle is perfect because it doesn’t restrict her legs and keep them straight like most swaddles. That can strongly affect the hips in babies and make cases like hip dysplasia even worse. It can also go in between the legs and just swaddle the arms.
These award winning baby cards consists of 30 photo cards that you can use to document your baby’s first year in weeks, months and most memorable moments. Just add this card to your baby pictures and you will have a photo to remember all the important milestones. They are available in 11 languages in over 33 countries.
My two favorite nursing cover.car seat cover, cart cover companies. I love these things and both of these brands have the cutest patterns. I love that they are so versatile and you can use them for so many different baby related tasks. I am obsessed.
Let’s talk about for momma now…you would be lying if you said you were happy about your post baby body. If you lost it all and look like a supermodel, then good for you. I don’t. I’ve lost most of the weight but my stomach still looks like a beer gut. I love my Belly Bandit BFF wrap, it has definitely aided in shrinking my waistline. It’s also helpful for c-section recovery. They have many different styles but the BFF is my fave because I’m a short waisted gal. Those corset belly wraps are basically one size and if you don’t fit in it, you’re screwed. The belly bandit comes in regular sizes (XS-L) and it has velcro so it’s more flexible. I’m an small to give you an idea. I also own their Mother Tucker leggings and I loveeee them too. They basically suck in my belly but are seamless under my clothes. Bye bye muffin top.
Mommas you need to take care of yourself after the baby is born. A healthy baby needs a healthy momma. Bella B makes some amazing newborn products and even better products for postnatal care. I love the Soothing Breast Wipes, Mama Soak, Bee Relieved Perineal Healing Spray and Nipple Nurture. The breast wipes and nipple nurture are for breastfeeding moms to soothe the irritation to your nipples that we all know it can do. The spray and soak are perfect for mommas who have had a vaginal delivery to relieve and soothe damaged areas. The Squeaky Bee baby wash is a fave also and is currently what we use to bathe Baby C.
Also wanted to include a couple items I received that have been so useful with the new baby. The Baby Pibu travel essentials set developed by a dermatologist is the perfect TSA approved sized items for your diaper bag. It includes: Pibu’s Bathtime Wash 2oz; Pibu’s Baby Butter 2oz; Hydrating Ointment 1oz; Bottom Balm 1oz. Speaking of diaper bags, this JujuBe BFF diaper bag is one of my favorite bags because it basically it will be your new BFF. Here is why… it’s features:
Front mommy pocket holds keys (stretch key fob) and sunglasses (cleans lenses too!) with plenty of room for more!
Memory foam changing pad included … nice ‘n comfy, super cushy.
Quick reach pocket for cell phone.
2 exterior insulated bottle pockets … with Thinsulate by 3M. Keep it warm? Keep it cold? Sure!

If you’re anything like me when you get invited to a baby shower, you always panic because A. you wanna be the cool person who finds a way to get creative with the registry. B. You don’t wanna just get a gift card (Ps. that’s me. I always end up with the gift card) However, I have some amazing baby shower gift ideas for you that the baby will love and the momma will love you for too!
I just gave birth 8 weeks ago and I know how beneficial these products have been for me and my baby girl.
The Munchkin STEP diaper pail has such a sleek design it can fit in any nursery theme and the best part is that it has the best odor control due to their lavender scented baking soda cartridge. Also they have the ONLY dual-refill compatible self sealing system. Side note: For every single diaper pail that Munchkin sells, they will plant a tree. I personally have 2-3 diaper pails because those babies stink up your house so much, DO NOT put them in your trash. You will regret it. A diaper pail is a must.
One of the greatest new adventures of a new baby for the parents and baby is bath time. It’s a special time that they can bond and unwind for the evening, creating long standing rituals. Sesame Street Naturals B is for Bubble Bath, Tip, Tummy & Toe 2-in-1 and Spray Me Lotion are perfect for bedtime bath rituals. B is for Bubble Bath is paragon, phthalate, tear and sulfate-free and helps soften and protect skin with shea butter and aloe. Tip, Tummy & Toe 2-in-1 is an instant foam that cleanses and moisturizes your baby. It was also voted “Best Foamer” by parents.com. Spray Me Lotion has a trigger spray that toddlers will love helping with. It is light enough for baby’s skin to avoid irritation. Go HERE to buy 2 & save $4.
The Munchkin Miracle Stainless Steel 360 Sippy Cup is a HUGE hit with my preschooler. She loves that it resembles mommy and daddy’s big stainless steel cups. I love that it is dishwasher safe, keeps her drinks cold or warm and keeps mold out of her cups, It is the perfect on the go sip cup for her. Now for Baby C, the Munchkin Latch Bottle is formulated to mimic breastfeeding for the baby, which is perfect for us since she is breastfed. The nipple moves and pumps just like the breast for a dead on and continuous latch. It makes it very easy to transition between bottle and breast. We also received a Munchkin Stainless Steel Bottle Brush with a removable head. It is extremely durable and gets in all the hidden spots. Plus the detachable head is great because you don’t have to throw the brush away, you can just replace the head when needed.
Now my favorite item sent is the Fisher Price Premium Auto Rock ‘n Play Sleeper with Smart Connect. It is a portable, inclined sleeper that rocks by itself and a projection shown on the sleeper canopy. It also includes relaxing rocking, calming vibrations with 12 songs and soothing sounds. Smart Connect lets you use your smart phone or tablet to control and customize all the features of the sleeper.
My baby girl loves this and naps in it each day. Her tech nerd daddy was especially impressed with the Smart Connect, self-rocking and projection. It is very soothing and almost every momma I have talked to raves about the Fisher Price Rock ‘n Plays.
Both of my babies have been crazy poopers so diaper rash cream is a must. I’m so paranoid what I put on their little tush though. Mustela Diaper Rash Cream 123 is made with plant based ingredients to help protect, moisturize and strengthen your baby’s skin. Their Hydra Bebe Body Lotion is a best selling daily moisturizer for dry baby skin, also including plant based ingredients.
Their products are 100% safe for mother and child, tested under dermatological and pediatric control. Also, the products are hypoallergenic and formulated to reduce risk of allergic reactions.

Lastly, momma needs pamper time too. Luckily, they sent one of my favorite skincare brands ever to me:Vichy Aquaria Thermal Rich Cream. I already use this weekly. It’s amazing. I included in my Youtube “Nighttime Skin Routine” roundup. It literally melts into your skin, leaving it soft and hydrated.

Also the Mustela Postpartum Stretch Marks Recovery Serum is amazing if you developed any stretch marks like I did. I didn’t get any the first pregnancy but this time around I have them on my chest. I’m really excited to start using this.

I have been meaning to post this for a while but have been so slammed with the birth of baby Charlie and the holidays. When I knew I was having a girl, I instantly knew I wanted to do her room in a mermaid theme. I’ve been obsessive over mermaids for years. I was torn on the colors and initially wanted to do coral and teal but I thought lavender and turquoise would be a lot softer.
My other daughter’s room is shabby chic princess and in soft pinks, gold, grey and white. I bought her bedding at Carousel Bedding (well my parents did) and I loved it! It held up until we moved her to her big girl bed last Christmas. I knew that’s where I wanted to get Charlie’s but was hoping they had something to go with my vision. I ended up finding their lilac collection and decided to get a solid color lilac crib sheet, a personalized crib sheet with anchors, a crib blanket for when she’s a tad older, a crib comforter for when we turn it into a toddler bed, a crib skirt, 2 changing pad covers and lavender shabby chic floral window panels.
I LOVE these personalized crib sheets from Carousel Bedding. There are so many different prints and fonts you can use for these sheets. They are 100% cotton and are printed with certified organic inks. I chose the little anchors because they reminded me of the ocean 🙂
I love THIS mermaid pillow. I seriously could play with it for hours. It’s the perfect addition. My 4-year-old is obsessed with it too.
I made this netting myself and chalk painted the letters with Dixie Belle chalk paint. I also refurnished my other daughter’s old furniture with an off white chalk paint then distressed it. I plan on posting a tutorial on this later on too. It’s a hobby of mine. It’s so therapeutic for me to paint and repurpose furniture.
Then I hot glued the letters to fish net along with seashells I spray painted gold and iridescent pearl.
How cute is this Aztec rug from Lorena Canals? It’s the perfect color and vibe for this room but secretly I wanted to steal it for my living room. I’m definitely using one of their rugs for the playroom when I redo it in the spring. Amazing quality and durability and they have the cutest patterns. I had such a hard time choosing between patterns.
The best part about Lorena Canals rugs are that they can be washed in the machine. Absolutely perfect for parents of little ones.
I”m loving this Mermaids Enter here cast iron sign from Shine Box Primitives. It’s handmade and distressed and also comes in 27 different colors.
My friend Jenny is a talented artist and made this gorgeous sign for Charlie’s room. She’s so creative. I’m obsessed with it!
I had the hardest time finding shelves for her room that fit my vision. They were never the perfect color or if they were the style didn’t fit. When I came across these floating rope shelves I was so excited. The owner Megan was a dream to work with and was so helpful in giving details and making sure it was exactly what I wanted. She sent it in the loveliest packaging also. Plus they are priced so well. Use coupon code BLOGCOUPON for 15% no minimum or maximum purchase expiring on 12/31/2017. Anything in her shop can be custom-made.
My friend Jessica made this AMAZING mermaid dreamcatcher and I am absolutely in love with it. She incorporated all of Charlie’s nursery colors and spent so much time on it. I’m so flattered she would take the time to make her something as beautiful and detailed as this.
How gorgeous is this Capiz chandelier from Pottery Barn Teen?! It’s only $129 and you can get 25% off. I will warn you I had to but extra supplies to put this together. (well my hubs put it together) I searched for a beach themed chandelier that would fit in her nursery and when I saw this I knew it would fit perfectly. It was also the most reasonably priced Capiz chandelier I could find.
I hope you guys enjoyed a peak at Charlie’s nursery. I am posting a Youtube video tour below so make sure to check that out 🙂 Hope y’all have a Merry Christmas xoxo

One of the happiest times for me each year is the Holiday season. I love everything about it. The christmas trees, eggnog and hot chocolate, decorations, Christmas movies, snuggling in front of the fire, watching the kids on Christmas morning, gingerbread houses, Christmas music. Ok I’ll stop boring you. I even love the cold weather. Mainly because I get to wear winter fashion but still.
One of my favorite Holiday traditions since starting a family is sending out our annual Christmas cards and making our yearly Christmas ornaments. I love sending out a small piece of our family to our loved ones and I love receiving them even more. This year I really wanted to include baby Charlie in our cards and waited until the last possible second to order but she didn’t make it in time. Good news is that Minted still got them to me lightning fast with their express shipping option. I wanted to share how AMAZING our cards turned out. For real, the quality is top-notch. We used the foil pressed holiday cards and they are stunning. You know me, gotta glam them up. Keep reading below for more info on ordering cards and other gifts. Plus an amazing $100 Giveaway.
Hands down the best part about working with Minted for my christmas cards is the Free Address Assistant. If you already have all your addresses in an excel sheet that’s even better but if not all you do is create an excel/numbers sheet and feed in all your addresses. Then upload the file on Minted and BOOM they pre-address all of your envelopes free of charge. It made my job so much easier, which I needed with a new baby. You can also pay extra to have them stamped to knock that off your list too. Plus I ordered these address labels so I didn’t have to write that out 50 times.
Also, Minted has a find it fast option that is really helpful when looking for the right holiday card design for you, You just upload your photo then it will appear in hundreds of different holiday card designs. It helps save you a ton of time as opposed to clicking on each individual card to try them out.
Here’s the best part: Minted and I have joined together to give 3 of you a $100 gift card. They have so many wonderful gifts (I will be sharing a couple in my gift guide within the next few days) you can find for loved ones or even for yourself. Comment below for a chance to win 🙂 Also FOLLOW ME on Instagram for more details. Enjoy loves xoxo
Disclosure: I was gifted product by Baby Cubby but this post contains my honest opinions written by me.
I know I just had a baby less than 5 years ago so I should’ve been more prepared than this but the truth is that things have changed so much since then. There are so many more advanced baby products out there that mine just don’t cut it for me, I came across Baby Cubby on a fellow blogger’s social media and was instantly impressed. They don’t just sell any old product on their website, they truly have to believe in the product. They have also fully researched the products they carry plus they price match. I was sold, especially on their organic brands.
The Baby Cubby team is made up of parents who find the best and safest baby gear and even do amazing things for you like test strollers on their stroller track, they price match every day against any company, and also offer free shipping over any order totaling over $49. Their team also actively engage with parents via social media and the Baby Cubby Blog to discuss some of those hard topics of parenting.
They carry top of the line products like The Owlet. The owlet is a sock monitor that stays up all night to monitor your child’s oxygen level and heart rate so you don’t have to. It will alert you when your baby’s oxygen level and or heart rate drop below normal ensuring that you can reach the child in more than enough time needed. I am obsessed with this product and will be writing a review on it after the baby is born. I did not buy this from Baby Cubby, but only because I already had one.
This is a sponsored post with gifting by several brands. All opinions formed are my own.
I’m literally due any day now and my hospital bag is finally packed. Luckily this isn’t my first kid so I’m a tad more prepared on what I need to bring to the hospital. Best case scenario is you should pack your bag at least 3 weeks before your due date. Last time I had no idea what I was supposed to bring,
First and Foremost, make sure you have your birth plan available. I was induced last time so that wasn’t an issue, but in the heat of the moment you can get carried away and have things go not as you planned. For instance this time I do not want an epidural.
Your ID and Insurance information. Also make sure to pre-register at the hospital.
Music (Phone or Ipod)
Camera (you know you’re gonna want amazing photos of that sweet baby)
I’m packing these amazing quality & super comfy nursing bras from Cake Maternity with me. One for comfort and one for support. The sports bra is perfect for any light exercise I get clearance to do and for when that 6 weeks is up and I get to continue my workouts. This balconet bra has room for growth post baby and is not one of those homely looking grandma bras like most nursing bras. The best part about Cake Maternity is their maternity/nursing wear is designed to be supportive & comfortable yet attractive & appealing.
This nursing chemise from Belabumbum is the perfect nightgown for the hospital and at home because it doesn’t show too much skin, it’s soft and it has a bra top support with one handed drop down nursing access.
This robe is from Pink Blush and it’s so soft and luxurious. (BTW it’s on SALE right now)
After you give birth and you are wanting to tuck in that belly, look into a Belly Bandit Mother Tucker Shorties. I also have been using the 2 in 1 support band throughout pregnancy to help support my back and ease my sciatic nerve pain.
A few comfy items that I posted for the hospital and to go home in are: This beyond comfortable nursing dress from Queen Bee that has side gathering and hidden snap buttons on the shoulders and when you need to nurse, just unsnap the buttons and lift the crop layer underneath.
These lounging pants are perfect for hanging out in the hospital and keeping you feeling relaxed. I love the Yoga joggers from Belabumbum because you cam wear them throughout pregnancy and also after.
These pants are the perfect going home pants and also work amazing for post baby until you lose those stubborn lbs. I’m giving you a heads up, most people leave the hospital still looking to be about 6 months pregnant, so don’t freak out. This Mom Life sweatshirt from ILY Couture is so comfy and well just look at what is written on it 😉 And it’s on SALE!
Don’t forget your comfy socks. I prefer ones with grippers on the bottom like these so I don’t slip & fall.
Ok as far as personal items go, here are some of MY must haves. Deodorant, face wash, my eyebrow pencil and face wipes. I learned the last time around I’ll definitely need high absorbency pads, tuck’s cooling pads for after delivery and antibacterial spray (if you require stitches.)
I am also packing these Bravado post partum nursing tanks and seamless bra that make it super easy to breast feed. They are extremely comfortable and great to wear while pregnant and afterwards.
I packed this adorable Finn & Emma one piece with a matching bandana bib. Plus a comfy monogrammed blanket from a friend:)
Last time I was in labor their pillows just were doing it for me so I used my Boppy pillow. Plus I packed these cute welcoming onesies from The Nesting Continues. (The snuggle is real & Hello World, I’m Charlie).
Hopefully this helped you guys get prepared. Heck I’m having my second one and I still terrified. You are not alone. I hope this baby comes tonight 🙂 Say a prayer for safe delivery. Xoxo.

I’m not sure about your kids but my little one definitely has some tangly, knotted locks on her head. It’s torture to brush her hair on bath night. I hate to tell her but I think she’s stuck with it. I can barely get my fingers through this hair of mine. She definitely inherited my thick and knotty hair. Unfortunately, my remedy for myself is to just go get a blow out or use a million products to soften this mane of mine and I cannot do the same for her. It’s one thing to use anything and everything on my own head but I just can’t justify using products with tons of chemicals on my preschooler.
Luckily, we came across SoCozy products. We personally are using the Cinch line, which by the way smells heavenly like mango. They work so well at detangling her hair. We use the 3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner and body wash then follow it up with the detangling conditioning spray. When I’m styling her hair I use the Behave styling mousse to give it hold because currently it’s on the slick side and falls out of up-dos easily. Her hair has been so soft since using and I love that it is non toxic because you have no idea how many of your favorite kid shampoos aren’t actually good for them.
One of the biggest reliefs to me is that SoCozy products are non-toxic and made without parabens, formaldehyde, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic color, propylene glycol. Their products are also free of alcohol, gluten, wheat, peanuts and tree nuts.
You can also use a $4 off coupon at Walgreens from 11/1-11/30. Click HERE for SoCozy retail locations.
Try it out mommas. Hope you guys are having a great week. Xoxo.
