6 Buzzed About Skin Care Products That You NEED Right Now

First things first let’s talk about the fact that I’m no longer breastfeeding and can actually do some stuff to my skin. I just had to share that with you guys because that’s the only positive thing about it right now. I felt so disgusting for so long because my skin was so gross and cruddy. I absolutely love trying and playing with different products. So I’ve tried and rounded up some products that are HOT right now that actually live up to the hype.

  1. Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial

skin care faves, how to get beautiful skin, top skincare needs

The other day I went to Sephora to use my VIB discount code. I asked the girl what is new and what should I try? She asked if I liked skin care. DUHHHH I live for skin care. So she starts telling me about this Drunk Elephant TLC facial. She pulls another associate over and they both start raving over it. Then I go to the from to pay and the clerk pulls it out of my bag and says “This stuff is amazing.” Ok ok I get it, I’m sold. I’ll admit it tingles a bit when you first put it on but that strangely tells me it’s working. My skin looked so fresh and amazing and I’ve only tried it once. I can’t imagine what it will look like when I used it weekly. I do use retinol throughout the week and you are definitely not supposed to pair them together. So now for example I’ll have to use retinol on Sunday, the baby facial Wednesday and retinol again on Sunday or vice versa. This stuff is the bomb and well worth the $80 price tag. It’s a luxurious facial at home and let’s face it, spa facials cost way more.

2. Kate Sommerville Eradikate

I have been using this product for about 8.5 years when it wasn’t even in stores yet and you could only get it in LA. I remember buying it in the actual Kate Sommerville store in LA about 9 summers ago. I’ve been hooked since. Anytime I get a zit, I put a little Eradikate acne treatment on it overnight and when I wake up it has reduced the inflammation so much. It’s a lifesaver, especially with cystic acne.  The Eradikate mask is also amazing for taming any hormonal flare ups. If you have any type of acne issues you need to try this.

3. IS Clinical Anything

I have fallen in love with my IS Clinical products. I do love Skin Ceuticals but oh my goodness I am obsessed with these products. Plus they’re safe for pregnancy and breast-feeding. So currently I am using their eye cream, hydra cool serum, active serum, pro heal serum, cleansing complex and youth intensive cream. I haven’t tried the shield balm but my friend Jessica raves about it. I had so many compliments on my skin tonight at an event. The only change I have made is switching to these products. My skin is also very well hydrated now. I use the eye cream at night and in the morning and the pro heal serum in the morning and the active serum at night. Also right before I put makeup on (which is rare) I put on the hydra cool serum to give me a good glow. I also use their spf moisturizer. Just call me an IS girl over here. I know some of you are gonna complain about pricing but hear me out. How much will you spend on botox or filler in your future when you’re older? Isn’t it better to be preventive now? Plus good health skin doesn’t have a price tag to me. I love taking care of my skin and looking youthful. If you take care of, it will age beautifully. Feel free to message me privately for questions.

4. Micellar Water

I’ve talked about Micellar water before so I’ll keep this short. It is an amazing product to supplement with after washing your makeup off at night. It gets all of the leftover dirt and grime but it’s gentle on your skin and doesn’t strip it. Bioderma micellar water wipes away makeup extremely easily and your skin doesn’t feel dry nor oily in the least after applied.

5. Trophy Skin Microdermabrasion

How cool is this at home microdermabrasion machine? I have been getting microdermabrasions for about 10 years now off and on and it’s one of the main things that truly helps my face. I have a patch of skin on my cheek that bugs me so bad and if I could only be diligent about my microderms I know I could dramatically reduce it. But who has $150 to drop per treatment? Not me. I’m obsessed with my Trophy Skin Micro machine. It basically pays for itself after 2 treatments. It can fade freckles, reduce acne/acne scarring, diminish crows feet, and gives an overall glow to your face.

6. Rodan & Fields Lash Booster

Let me start by saying no I do not sell Rodan & Fields and no I am not making money off of this. Now onto the matter at hand. I’ve heard from every single person who has tried this that it is freaking amazing. Even better than Latisse (which btw can change the color of your eye, you can’t use while pregnant and basically gave me brown eyeliner) I just started using this so I can’t personally vouch yet, however the numerous amount of women I know who do use it have eyelashes for days now. My friend Lauren didn’t have a stitch of makeup on the other day and I asked her without even knowing “Do you use lash booster?” and um of course she said yes. Her lashes looked phenomenal and she just started a few weeks ago. If you don’t believe me google the before and after photos. I can’t wait to see what mine look like. Click HERE to buy it. (Again I am not selling, I am just a customer who has seen great results but if you are gonna buy it, there’s your girl.)

Ok there are my current MUST HAVES. Yes all the raves are true. Every single one of these products has 4.5-5 star reviews. That’s impressive. I’ve personally tried them all too so if you have any questions or even suggestions please feel free to reach out to me 🙂 I’ll talk skin care all day. Xoxo

Love Yourself First. Treat Yourself. Spa Day at Osho Collective.

If you follow along with my story then you know I am a mother whose life is mostly chaos, most importantly mother with a newborn. When you have a child, you relish any moment of free time you may be blessed with. When you have more than one, you literally bolt out the door the second you can. When I had the chance to have a spa day, I not only indulged but I savored every second.

I had a long talk with my sister in law over the holidays and she told me I needed to invest in more me time. I, of course, being a parent thought to myself “I don’t have time, my kids need me.” I have been doing a lot of soul searching in the past year to find out what truly makes me happy because the hard truth is when you become a mother, you lose a but of yourself. That’s ok because you should be selfless most of the time for your children. But you know what? You should have be selfish sometimes. You need time for yourself, you need to pamper yourself. Because if you’re not happy, if you’re not mentally well…guess who suffers also? Your children, your partner. They need you to be at your very best just as much as you do. So I have made a point to do more self loving. One of the things to start this journey is pampering myself more.

Before having my first child, I think I’ve only had one facial and one massage. Period. In 28 years of life, that’s ridiculous. In the past 5 years since she was born, I have had a handful here and there. So on my road to self love, I made a promise to myself that I would get a massage, facial and blowout once a month preferably but at the very least every 2 months. I’m thankful that Osho Collective, a new spa & salon in Nashville granted me with a day of relaxation to experience all these things and more.

Herbal Foot Soak

I started my day with an herbal foot soak which is something I had never experienced. I have such a hard time letting myself go or releasing. When I sat down, Gabrielle (the owner) gave me a blanket, a warm neck compress and a mask to get all the feels and all comfy. From there, she poured the water in the foot tub. Here’s a little info on that for ya because I didn’t know either.

“The Herbal foot soak is really to art of setting the body in such a way that supports the body’s ability to release stress and to receive healing/nurturing. Stress being the largest factor for most health issues (physical and emotional), every movement/service on the Osho wellhouse side is held with the intention of releasing stress/trauma in the body and supporting the blossoming, growth, and alignment of our clients life force (authentic happiness). All of the soaks are made in house by are magical apothecary artist Alyson Spence. The house soak (the osho soak) is a combination of woodsy tones for grounding and a light citric element which is uplifting to the spirit, resulting in a really smooth balancing of the body’s vibration. It also contains epsom salt, pink salt, and dead sea salt that work as powerful clearing agents and help to relax muscles. Once the body is set and cozy, we begin the pouring of the water, pitcher by pitcher, beginning to open the body’s senses and promote rejuvenation. With the warm neck wrap and hot tea, combined with the indigenous music you are bound to step into another world. After this journey, you may find yourself particularly rested, centered.” (Gabrielle)

It was really really hard for me to shut down and enjoy but I really tried. A day at the spa is a “destination to transform your psychological and physiological well-being.”

Customized Facial

Ok I’m gonna be real with you for a moment. That was hands down the most relaxing facial I have ever had in my life. Their aesthetician, Christina Gandy, is simply magical. She’s so amazing I went back. And I will go back again very soon. I kept asking her over and over about all of the relaxing, heavenly smells. She’s not paying me to say this either haha… she’s the cat’s meow for sure.

The skin care line used is Eminence, an all natural, organic line. Facials helps release tension from the face, neck and body while rehydrating and nourishing your skin. It can take years off your face with regular visits. Here is a little something, something I found from Miss Christina regarding facials:

60 Minute Massage

I swear these opinions are my own and it seems like I’m sugar coating everything but I’m not! With that being said, again this massage was the best massage ever. Keep in mind I like deep tissue massages. When I am asked how I like my pressure, my response is “I wanna feel your fingers in my bones.” Yes I’m aware how truly creepy that sounds but hey, it’s me. I like rough massages, sue me. I was extremely heart broken when the massage ended. Note to self: next time do 90 minutes or more. Robin is a genius. And when I complimented her on this at the end, she said it was;t the first time she’s heard it so it MUST be true, Simply magical.

Guide Session

This was the part I was most nervous about. I am an extremely private person unless you’re a close friend of mine. I was terrified to discuss anything about my feelings or life etc. Yah I’ve got trust issues and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Gabrielle’s way of explaining the sessions are like this “The guide session is an experience of being guided to a deeper listening on ones true/higher self. It would be like having someone hold up a mirror to your emotional body to help you see where you might be holding old trainings and experiences that are likely the cause of our feeling stuck or unhappy. A guide session is used to help people navigate their internal waters to get where they are really trying to go, to get fulfillment.”

Going through life like I have (like a champ btw) I have really learned to zone in on what makes me me and what makes you you. The guide session is very therapeutic and could really benefit someone who is going through rough times or really just need to rid their soul of some junk. Personally I feel like I’m pretty good at that myself because like I said, I am really trying to take care of myself lately. I let myself feel, let myself cry, let myself be angry. Holding anything inside your soul just isn’t good for your well-being. Gabby is really talented in the way she can zone in on your concerns and internal battles.

Jessica Mallum

Well, I experienced the Wellhouse side of Osho and it was awesome but I spend most of time in the salon side of it because that’s where my girl Jessica Joy is. Jessica has beautified these locks of mine for nearly 5 years now. She is the artist behind this blonde mane. It’s only fitting that I end my day in her chair. She is the queen of blonde hair but she is uber talented in hair color alone. She’s literally the bomb.com She is a top notch PerfecTress Hair Extensions Specialist and educator. One of the very best here in Nashville, Girl is wicked talented.

Here is the latest magic she has worked on my hair and the bottom pic is my sweet friend Sheeva.

Bonus if you live in the Nashville area, Osho is running an AMAZING February special that I personally am snagging. Such a great deal. I definitely recommend the facial & massage. Let them know I sent ya! Xoxo

Kiddo Friendly Hair Care: So Cozy

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of SoCozy. All opinions are my own and not edited by the sponsor.

kiddo friendly hair care

kiddo friendly hair care

I’m not sure about your kids but my little one definitely has some tangly, knotted locks on her head. It’s torture to brush her hair on bath night. I hate to tell her but I think she’s stuck with it. I can barely get my fingers through this hair of mine. She definitely inherited my thick and knotty hair. Unfortunately, my remedy for myself is to just go get a blow out or use a million products to soften this mane of mine and I cannot do the same for her. It’s one thing to use anything and everything on my own head but I just can’t justify using products with tons of chemicals on my preschooler.

Luckily, we came across SoCozy products. We personally are using the Cinch line, which by the way smells heavenly like mango. They work so well at detangling her hair. We use the 3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner and body wash then follow it up with the detangling conditioning spray. When I’m styling her hair I use the Behave styling mousse to give it hold because currently it’s on the slick side and falls out of up-dos easily. Her hair has been so soft since using and I love that it is non toxic because you have no idea how many of your favorite kid shampoos aren’t actually good for them.

One of the biggest reliefs to me is that SoCozy products are non-toxic and made without parabens, formaldehyde, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic color, propylene glycol. Their products are also free of alcohol, gluten, wheat, peanuts and tree nuts.

Tips On How To Make That Blowout Last

Ok ladies (or men with long hair)  I have teamed up with The Dry House in Nashville to help share some tips on how to extend a blow out and share some of their blowout deals as well 🙂 If you’re anything like me and hate washing your own hair let alone drying it too, these tips will help make you a lot happier. I have wavy hair with a kinky texture in the back so it’s always hard to reach those spots when I blow out my hair. I try to stretch out the days in between washes as long as possible and a good blowout definitely helps attain that.

If you’re not going to a blowout bar and wanna attempt this at home read below. Otherwise trust a professional.

  • First you need the right tools to perfect the blow out. Don’t worry I got you 😉 We’ll go step by step through this together. Depending on your hair texture will determine what type of shampoo you will use to start. I have linked below my favorite brand Pureology in three different types: hydrating, purifying and volume shampoo. I personally would need Hydrating shampoo because my hair is on the drier side where I color it. If your hair is on the mousy/limp side I would recommend Volumizing shampoo. At times when I feel like I have a lot of product build up I also would use a Purifying shampoo. Scrub (well massage) those roots then put a hydrating conditioner if you have dry hair and a lightweight conditioner if you have fine hair on just the ends.
  • Then apply a rejuvenating oil like this one HERE or HERE on the ends to help with dry ends. It also helps reduce dry time and extends your blowout.
  • Next apply a volumizing mousse shown HERE and HERE on roots.
  • Follow with a blowout spray like THIS or THIS to protect hair from UV rays and hot hair styling tools.
  • Section off hair and blow dry with brush in sections flipping your wrist.

Short hair (chin length and shorter) – Use a small to medium round brush 1″ (25mm) to 1.4″ (35mm)

Medium hair (chin length to collar-bone) – Use a medium round brush 1.4″ (35mm) to 1.7″ (45mm)

Long hair ( Collar bone length or longer) – Use a medium to large round brush 1.7″ (45mm) to 2.2″ (55mm)

After your gorgeous blowout is completed, here some ways to maintain that perfection on your head:

  • Flip your head over at night and roll into a ballerina bun securing with a scrunchie. Yes I said scrunchie. Elastic hair ties crease and tangle hair.
  • Sleep on a satin pillowcase to avoid frizz.
  • When you shower, use a shower cap to avoid humidity messing with your hair cuticles.

I use a lot of dry shampoo to stretch my blowout as long as possible. I’m embarrassed to admit but currently I’m on day 9. I plan on finally washing my hair tomorrow haha. I’m also gonna include a few things(like beach & texturizing spray) I use to style and give my hair volume in between washes. I plan on posting a hair tutorial next week too 🙂

The Dry House in Nashville was gracious enough to invite me to their salon to give me a badass blowout and go over all of these tips to prolong your blowout. If you’re in the Nashville area, check them out. I’m including a list of their services and cost. Mention NASHVILLE WIFESTYLES for $10 off your blowout 🙂

Morning Skin Care Regime

You guys asked and I listened! I’ve been getting a lot of requests on what I do for skin care so in addition to filming a video for my new Youtube channel, I’m also including a blog on it for more details. No it’s not just my pregnancy glow! I put work into this skin of mine and it still has a lot of work to do. I’m gonna break it down for you guys in two sections: Morning and Night time routines. Keep in mind that I do not do every part go the regime I’m posting every day. I also switch it up depending on how my skin is feeling.

So here we go….

Cleansers: I wake up in the mornings like a zombie or mombie as I call it. I know, I know… soon that will get even worse with two kids. I wash my face with my Philosophy Purity Cleanser or Visha Mommy Purifying Cleanser on a normal day. If my skin is more on the dry/parched side, then I use my Eve Lom morning cleanser. I use it sparingly because well its pricey. One of my best friends, Jessica, told me about this product. She’s my celebrity skin insider and tells me all of the best products. You guys need to check out her blog ASAP. The Purity Cleanser is amazing because even though it cleanses and tones your skin, it’s extremely gentle on sensitive skin. So if you’ve had a peel or facial recently it’s safe to use without damaging your skin.  The Visha Purifying Cleanser is formulated for the safety of pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers. It is sulfate and paraben-free. The ingredients in this cleanser helps to address hormonal breakouts and irritation. Eve Lom Morning Cleanser is a lightweight cleanser, yet it has a thick consistency of a balm to really hydrate your skin. It uses the four Eve Lom signatures: Papaya fruit enzymes which exfoliate your skin and brightens it, carrot oil which helps to stimulate collagen production, egyptian chamomile oil that helps soothe your skin and eucalyptus oil that unclog your pores and makes your skin glow. Also I use the suggested muslin cloths anytime I use Eve Lom because they are gentle on your skin, 100% cotton and well because the French use muslin cloths to take off their makeup and who doesn’t wanna pretend they’re french?!

Speaking of the tricks of the French women, next I use Micellar Cleansing Water. I use it to take off any existing makeup leftover if I wore makeup the night before. I can’t wait to go in detail about this awesome product a little deeper in my PM skin care post later on.

Masks: I love to use Dr. Brandt Oxygen Facial during the day. Sometimes I’ll draw a bubble bath and throw this on my face while I’m relaxing. It’s intended to boost your skin’s luminosity and freshen tired skin in less than 5 minutes. I apply it to damp skin by patting not rubbing it in. Let it sit and feel the bubbles tingle. I love that feeling and I’m almost addicted to it. Then rinse it off. A couple other masks I enjoy using to freshen my skin for the day are Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask and Rose Stem Cell Mask. The Cucumber gel mask is very gentle and hydrates dry skin with extracts of cucumber, papaya, chamomile, pineapple, sugar maple, sugarcane, orange, lemon, bilberry, and aloe. Man that was lengthy. It is also perfect to soothe skin after such things as sunburns, peels, extraction, etc. I keep both of my PTR masks in the refrigerator and you can leave on for as little as 10 minutes up to overnight. I use them about 2 times per week, The Rose stem cell mask is intended for anti-aging; “five rose stem cells are blended with four rose extracts in a cooling, rejuvenating gel to help stimulate cell turnover for younger looking skin. Helps repair the signs of aging, including the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, dehydration, dullness and sagging as it strengthens and tones the look of skin. ”

Eye Cream: My favorite eye cream in the world is NeoCutis Lumiere Bio-restorative Eye Cream. I have gotten so much positive feedback on this from ladies who love this suggestion. I use it at night and in the morning. It is ideal for puffiness and fine lines. It contains an advanced complex of PSP growth factors to boost cell’s ability to repair skin while reducing wrinkles. The hyaluronic acid plumps and hydrates fine lines. Basically it makes these tired eyes look more youthful. Also I’ve been using Visha Mommy Bright Eye Booster. Visha uses a ‘plant based peptide combined with skin brightening Emblica extract and nourishing vitamins to strengthen the collagen-elastin, while dramatically reducing puffiness and visibly minimizing the appearance of under-eye dark circles.’ It is very hydrating and feels very cool on your skin. I can already see a difference especially regarding puffiness.

Serums: I’m a huge fan of Skin Ceuticals CE Ferulic Acid. It is a daily vitamin C serum that contains antioxidants to diminish appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve elasticity of skin and brightens your skin’s complexion. Guys this stuff is expensive yes, but holy shit it is legit. I could see that glow in my skin after just a few uses. I don’t even wear makeup during the day because it has made my skin so freaking amazing. 5 drops that’s all you need. This is a MUST. Forego a pair of shoes or something a month, trust me it’s worth it. I’ve recently started using Visha’s mommy skin care line they sent to me. Their Mommy Brightener with Illuminotext is ideal for women dealing with hyper pigmentation and acne due to all the hormone changes. The exfoliants in the serum aid the pores in opening and stimulate collagen production to firm your skin. It’s intended to brighten your skin. If you’re pregnant especially you know you are gonna be yearning for that.

**BTW Ladies, Visha is offering my followers 15% their purchase with the code Nashville15. Check out their story and website, especially if you or anyone you know is pregnant. I’m loving their mommy line.**

Sunscreen: Elta MD UV Sunscreen is the bees knees. I’m usually not a fan of sunscreens because they’re chalky and feel heavy on my skin. So far this is my favorite sunscreen yet. It’s lightweight and oil free to protect acne prone skin. It protects your complexion with SPF 46 and shields UVA/UVB rays. They also have a tinted version I wanna try.

Ok peeps there ya go. My daily routine in a nutshell. Go forth and get that glowy skin girlfriend. Just don’t tell your husbands or boyfriends I told you about this holy grail of products because they don’t need to know haha. Our little secret….along with the world-wide web. I linked all products below except Visha but directly linked them in the descriptions. Take care of your skin ladies! You’ll thank me later. Look for my PM skincare post within the week.

It’s late at night. You’re getting ready for bed. Staring in the mirror picking apart every inch of your face, searching for all the flaws. Especially since we are coming off of winter, we are all thinking our skin is ruddy and bleh. Every little wrinkle you have is peeking out at full force.

We all do it. I am always searching for a way to make my skin look more youthful and have more of a glow. Sure I can wear makeup with highlighters galore…and trust me I do…but are there any other options?

Que the Hydrafacial.

It’s the latest craze in the beauty & skin care world. All the celebrities (such as Kate Winslet & Beyonce) are doing it to achieve results immediately. My friend reached out to me a few weeks ago and told me she had the most amazing facial and I had to try it. She raved about how much better her skin looked. I was sold and dying to try it. Quite the splurge at $185, I still searched around for locations who did the service in Nashville. Luck hit me and the sweetest girl ever named Ashley (obviously she is a bad ass with that name) had seen my blog and just so happened to be an esthetician at Dr. Sieveking’s office downtown Nashville contacted me about trying a hydrafacial. I booked it with her last week. She let me know ahead of time there was no downtime and at most I might be a little flushed for 30 minutes or so directly following.

I drove my little happy booty down to Nashville after my Novo class in Franklin. Their doctor’s office is in the cutest little house downtown. I walked in and filled out some paperwork, anxiously awaiting Ashley to greet me. When she finally did, she proved she literally is the sweetest human. My first thought was that I was instantly jealous of her perfect makeup because I’m ashamed to admit I looked a hot mess. She fully informed me what we were going to do and gave me a chance to answer any questions. Here is my before photo. I’m looking super hot in that cap I know.

Basically the process is broken down into 4 steps. The first step is the cleansing and exfoliation. It almost felt like a microdermabrasion tip exfoliating the top layer of my skin. All the dead cells are removed, leaving your skin resurfaced. The second step is an acid peel. Don’t freak out! It’s not the kind that makes your skin peel off. It just helps release all the grime from your pores. The third step is extractions. This is my favorite thing to get done to my skin. I know I’m a weirdo but I love knowing all the gunk is coming out of my clogged pores. It isn’t painless and the vortex suction is used to clean out the pores. The final step is hydration. And boy does it hydrate. You can literally feel the hydration flushing through your face. I like to compare it to steam cleaning your couch. You know how you have to flush it with water and cleaning solution to bring out the gunk? Then you see all the murky water in the tank showing what it sucked out? Yep that’s exactly what the hydrafacial does. It flushes antioxidants and hyaluronic acid in your skin to plump & feed that beautiful skin of yours.

My skin felt so revitalized directly following. It does exactly what it says it’s going to do. You 100% achieve immediate results, and it honestly gets better within the next few days. My skin glowed right away and like Ashley promised, it was just flushed a little. By the time I left my lunch afterward, it had calmed down completely. So zilch downtime and immediate results. I’m sold for life. Technically I could walk in with mascara and my eyebrows done and have it done on my lunch break. Walk out with perfect skin. Perfect for you on the go ladies too. It takes 30-45 minutes max. The best way to get maximum results is to maintenance every 4-6 weeks.

It’s perfect for all skin types or conditions. The Hydrafacial is also excellent for resolving:

  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  • Elasticity and Firmness
  • Skin Tone Evenness & Vibrancy
  • Skin Texture
  • Hyperpigmentation/Photo Damage
  • Oily/Congested Skin
  • Enlarged Pores
  • Advanced Signs of Aging

My skin 3 days following. I posted this on Snap Chat so it does have a slight filter (even though their filters are barely anything) and I have makeup on. If you know me you will know my skin looks so much better still!

Your skin is the largest organ of your body. I know I stated that already in my skin care product blog earlier on, but honestly take care of it now before it’s too late. Ok now that I’m done fan girling all over this facial, I cannot wait to see any results you guys get from this if you try it.

Since Ashley is like I said the sweetest human ever, she has extended an offer to my followers to come in and try one for $99! That’s nearly 50% off of their regular price of $185. There is no excuse not to try it now. So go forth and obtain that J Lo glow skin you beautiful ladies (and dudes if you want in too)!

To book an appointment with Ashley here is her contact information below and don’t forget to mention my blog name Nashville Lifestyles to get that awesome deal. If you guys book let me know what you think! I’m dying to see the results 🙂

I finally just put my 3-year-old to bed. Geez after the “just one more story” “I can’t sleep without my horse” and “Mom I need a drink of water” speech I get every night I can now finally relax with my glass of wine and TGIT tv shows.

Before I started my blog last month I used to get messages often asking what my routine was. Well long story short… I personally do not tan, smoke or drink regularly except a glass of wine a few nights a week so I’m sure that has helped my aging process. I barely wear makeup which is amazing for your skin as well. I know that is strange to hear considering I am so obsessed with makeup and my collection is ridiculous, but I only wear it for events or if I am going out for the evening. I definitely do not put it on for day to day life. I’m rocking that baseball hat, homeless mom look but with Lululemon yoga pants on pretty much daily. With that being said, I do have a routine going that I feel has helped me. I hope I don’t look almost 33 anyway. This is definitely a quick routine too because if you’re a mom like me or you’re just too busy to fiddle with a lengthy skin routine, you just wanna go to bed at the end of the night. Or in the morning you are scrambling to get out the door. (Ok ok that’s me, so I’m pretending every one else does it too) So here we go folks…

I start my day by rinsing off the product from the previous night. Then I put on SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic serum. This anti-aging, antioxidant serum contains ferulic acid that neutralizes free radicals and builds collagen. Once the product is absorbed it cannot be washed off.  I love it! It has a strange odor but that’s a good thing, when it loses its odor it loses its effectiveness. It gives me that “glow” daily. If you order it by 02/29 use coupon code SPR20 for 20% off. If you miss that date, Skinstore or Dermstore always have great deals & coupons.

Then I put on eye cream because that is my weak spot. I spend most my time laughing and smiling and I’m not complaining. That does give me laugh lines around my eyes though so to soften them, I use Clinique all About Eyes during the day. It is extremely light and is intended to diminish puffiness, dark circles and fine lines. It helps hydrate under my eyes, especially if I am wearing makeup. If you sign up on Clinique’s website for emails you can get 15% off your first order.

Honestly that’s all I use during the day because I don’t usually wear makeup, so the rest of the good stuff doesn’t come til night time. When I’m ready for bed, I wash my face with Philosophy Purity for the most part. (I’ll go into other face washes and products in another post, these are just my DAILY rituals) I always use a washcloth and not my hands because a washcloth gives you that extra bit of exfoliation to get all the grit off of your face. It is very gentle but at the same time it dissolves all dirt and makeup off of your face while keeping you hydrated. It’s amazing to use after any type of peel because of its gentle nature. Ps. you can also use it to clean your makeup brushes.

Oh… You can use that same code on Skinstore.com SPR20.

Ok my holy grail at the moment is dadadadada drum roll please….

Sunday Riley Luna sleeping night oil. I love how this makes my skin feel. I’m going to be honest, I went through a purge phase that I wasn’t too thrilled with but I persevered. Like the ferulic serum, it does have a different odor but it isn’t unpleasant. The blue tansy in it does give a blue tint to your skin when it is first applied but it goes away almost immediately. Blue tansy is an essential oil that contains calming and anti-inflammatory effects. Luna oil is a retinoid oil but unlike retina, the oil restores hydrated skin and gives a more even toned complexion. It’s also formulated without sulfates and parabens. Trust me you won’t find a coupon for this…but if you do please email it to me haha.

I pair this with Sunday Riley Good Genes. I put it on 5 minutes after my Luna oil. You usually would put Good Genes on before every Sunday Riley treatment, all except for Luna oil. It is a brightening treatment and lactic acid mask, that also hydrates fine lines, renews skin to reveal a vibrant complexion. It is promised with long-term use to restore damaged skin, reduce hyper pigmentation and reduce wrinkles.

On the two nights a week I do not use Luna oil or Good Genes, I use doctor prescribed Retin-A Micro. That has done wonders for my skin. Acne and Wrinkles. I cannot provide a link for that because for medical grade you need to see a doctor, but I can provide you with some photos and information. When Retina-A is regularly applied to the skin it has been shown to unclog pores, while stimulating collagen growth. It also slows down your loss of collagen, which is why the sooner you start usage, the better in order to avert wrinkles. I have been using it off and on for years. It does make my skin flaky and peel a lot at first but eventually your skin does adjust. After you push through that initial flakiness, it actually gives your skin a glow while evening out skin texture. I always follow with moisturizer considering Retina-A dries out my skin. You should always wait 20 minutes before applying any other products to your face. Bonus…you can use it as a spot treatment to drastically reduce pimples overnight. Win win.

Speaking of hydration. When I’m needing that extra kick for my dry skin, my go to is Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa. Thanks Aunt Vicki! My aunt turned me onto this product before we got it here in the US. It literally quenches my skin overnight. Those smart, smart people…they know that skin soaks up every bit of anything at night. It feels so luxurious and silky on your skin but without that expected price tag. It does not weigh your skin down or feel oily. In fact it feels amazing on your skin. Here’s the kicker….for $28! Come on, that’s insane. Honestly you wake up with your skin feeling like heaven.

Ok last but not least because your eyes are the window to the soul: Neocutis Lumiere Bio-Restorative Eye Cream. They sell this at my doctor’s office but I have found it on a couple of skin/beauty websites with a coupon. I’m always about saving some moolah, especially if I planned on buying it anyway. This eye cream has 30% more PSP (processed skin cell proteins) to smooth and soften fine lines and wrinkles. It revitalizes the eye area which is the thinnest and most fragile skin on our entire face and is more susceptible to damage. It hydrates and firms your under eyes and helps reduce the appearance of under eye darkness, while the caffeine helps the puffiness. It might have a hefty price tag, but trust me it’s worth it. Ps. again this is included in the 20% coupon with Skinstore.com right now. No I am not an affiliate for them, even though I wish I were.

Well that’s it. No, that is definitely not the only products I use on my face. They are the top main products I use on a regular basis though. I swear by them. I cannot wait to share the other products I use that I also swear by. I can promise you if I don’t like a product I will tell you guys. 100%. I hope you enjoyed this blog. Let me know how you like these products if you already use them or if you try them. Please feel free to leave me a comment, drop me an email or go to my Instagram or Facebook page to let know what you wanna read or how you feel about what I’m posting. Have a great night! This old lady is heading to bed, it’s past my bedtime.
