This is cleaning hacks post is sponsored and written by me on behalf of Lysol®. The opinions and text are all mine.
A few months ago I took a poll of what you guys wanted to see more of in Nashville Wifestyles, and a big topic requested was cleaning hacks. I’ve been brainstorming and when I came upon this opportunity with Lysol® for their Laundry Sanitizer it seemed like the perfect starting point. I’m not exaggerating when I say I probably do 5 loads of laundry a week. Yes I only have 2 kids, but with a baby who gets food EVERYWHERE and a 5-year-old who changes her clothes depending on her mood, my washer stays full. I’ll tell you one thing I’m bad at though: remembering to switch the clothes to the dryer in an appropriate amount of time. (Insert embarrassed and disgusted face) Ask my husband and he will tell you, a majority of our clothes have that nasty mold smell on them. Did you know that just washing your clothes doesn’t rid them of germs and bacteria? Yeah, I didn’t either honestly. Luckily, I’ve come across Lysol Laundry Sanitizer, which gets rid of 99.9% of the bacteria in our laundry that detergent can leave behind. Also, just thinking of all the germs Keatyn picks up at school and Matt picks up at the gym makes the paranoid loon in me nauseous. To know that a simple laundry additive can aid in preventing an illness is so helpful for me, who as a mom to two beautiful children would do anything to protect.
What is it?
Lysol Laundry Sanitizer is an additive designed to help sanitize your family’s clothes when you need it. It is free of chlorine bleach and also works in cold water that makes it safe to use on most fabrics including whites, colors and darks. Did you know that detergent alone does not kill all bacteria? If I told you that additive alone could kill all but 0.01% would you buy it? I think we all know the answer is, YES. It’s perfect for active moms on the go, but it’s also perfect for my girls without kids. I can think back to the crazy workouts I did when I actually had more time to go to the gym and how absolutely horrid and gross my clothes were. This is for you too, sister.
Where do I find it?
I purchased mine at Target in the laundry care aisle and lucky for you guys the Cartwheel app is offering 5% off between 10/29 and 11/11 (if you follow my insta stories you know how much I LOVE my Cartwheel app, it saves me soooo much money). Also, you guys gotta get that Target red card. I attached it to my bank so I’m cautious of what I’m spending since it’s direct withdraw like a debit card. As if you needed another reason for a Target trip…but trust me this is it.
Other things to consider…since we are discussing cleaning hacks and what not, laundry is the BEST way to get your kids involved with chores around the house. Have them bring you their laundry and put all clothes in the wash. Teach them about bacteria and germs. Keatyn is dying to help me every time I do the chores around the house. I always make her sort her laundry by color, put them in the wash and help fold it, finishing by putting it all away. The BEST thing you can do for your child besides love them with all you have is teach them to be self-sufficient. Thanks dad 🙂
Don’t forget that Lysol Laundry Sanitizer is 5% off with the Cartwheel app! Trust me you don’t wanna miss this bargain. Xo
