Creating A Safe Crib For Your Infant: Halo Sleep Sack

When I had my first child, I spent many nights without sleep, Not because I was a new mom necessarily, but because I constantly worried about SIDS. I checked to see if she was breathing constantly. When you’re a new mom you envision this beautiful nursery with gorgeous bedding and pillows and decorating the crib like you would your own bed. There were so many things I did not know that could disrupt a safe sleep environment for your baby. Today, I am collaborating with Halo to talk to you guys a little bit about sleep safety.

I am still in the process of decorating my mermaid nursery. You guys are gonna love it, I just know it! I should be finished within the week for my BIG nursery reveal.

Here are some things I learned with my first child. First off, put them to sleep on their backs. Second, use a crib that meets current safety standards such as a firm mattress that fits snugly in the crib and a tight-fitting crib sheet. Include NO toys, blankets, crib bumpers, pillows, etc. Did you know you should not include any of those things in your baby’s crib? But they’re so cute right?! No. Just don’t do it, it’s not worth the risk. I didn’t buy any of that this time around. Save the blankets for when the baby grows. Now I use Halo sleep sacks. I used them with Keatyn and I will use them with Charlotte.

The sleep sack from HALO helps your baby sleep safer and while it helps to “swaddle” your baby, it keeps your baby from kicking out of the swaddle. Plus the bottom zipper makes diaper changes a cinch.

You will want to discontinue swaddling when your baby shows signs of rolling over or getting out of the swaddle wrap. I hope all my pregnant mommas and future pregnant mommas find this information helpful. If you have any questions, please reach out to me. I’m not claiming to be a perfect know it all mother but I am a mother so hopefully I can help 🙂 Let’s do all we can to keep our babies safe.
