MY TOP 8 DAILY SKIN CARE PRODUCTS

I finally just put my 3-year-old to bed. Geez after the “just one more story” “I can’t sleep without my horse” and “Mom I need a drink of water” speech I get every night I can now finally relax with my glass of wine and TGIT tv shows.

Before I started my blog last month I used to get messages often asking what my daily skin care routine was. Well long story short… I personally do not tan, smoke or drink regularly except a glass of wine a few nights a week so I’m sure that has helped my aging process. I barely wear makeup which is amazing for your skin as well. I know that is strange to hear considering I am so obsessed with makeup and my collection is ridiculous, but I only wear it for events or if I am going out for the evening. I definitely do not put it on for day to day life. I’m rocking that baseball hat, homeless mom look with Lululemon yoga pants on pretty much daily. With that being said, I do have a routine going that I feel has helped me. I hope I don’t look almost 33 anyway. This is definitely a quick daily skin care  routine too because if you’re a mom like me or you’re just too busy to fiddle with a lengthy daily skin care routine, you just wanna go to bed at the end of the night. Or in the morning you are scrambling to get out the door. (Ok ok that’s me, so I’m pretending every one else does it too) So here we go folks…

I start my daily skin care routine by rinsing off the product from the previous night. Then I put on SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic serum. This anti-aging, antioxidant serum contains ferulic acid that neutralizes free radicals and builds collagen. Once the product is absorbed it cannot be washed off.  I love it! It has a strange odor but that’s a good thing, when it loses its odor it loses its effectiveness. It gives me that “glow” daily. If you order it by 02/29 use coupon code SPR20 for 20% off. If you miss that date, Skinstore or Dermstore always have great deals & coupons.

Then I put on eye cream because that is my weak spot. I spend most my time laughing and smiling and I’m not complaining. That does give me laugh lines around my eyes though so to soften them, I use Clinique all About Eyes during the day. It is extremely light and is intended to diminish puffiness, dark circles and fine lines. It helps hydrate under my eyes, especially if I am wearing makeup. If you sign up on Clinique’s website for emails you can get 15% off your first order.

Honestly that’s all I use during the day for my daily skin care because I don’t usually wear makeup, so the rest of the good stuff doesn’t come til night time. When I’m ready for bed, I wash my face with Philosophy Purity for the most part. (I’ll go into other face washes and products in another post, these are just my DAILY rituals) I always use a washcloth and not my hands because a washcloth gives you that extra bit of exfoliation to get all the grit off of your face. It is very gentle but at the same time it dissolves all dirt and makeup off of your face while keeping you hydrated. It’s amazing to use after any type of peel because of its gentle nature. Ps. you can also use it to clean your makeup brushes.

Oh… You can use that same code on Skinstore.com SPR20.

Ok my holy grail at the moment is dadadadada drum roll please….

Sunday Riley Luna sleeping night oil. I love how this makes my skin feel. I’m going to be honest, I went through a purge phase that I wasn’t too thrilled with but I persevered. Like the ferulic serum, it does have a different odor but it isn’t unpleasant. The blue tansy in it does give a blue tint to your skin when it is first applied but it goes away almost immediately. Blue tansy is an essential oil that contains calming and anti-inflammatory effects. Luna oil is a retinoid oil but unlike retina, the oil restores hydrated skin and gives a more even toned complexion. It’s also formulated without sulfates and parabens. Trust me you won’t find a coupon for this…but if you do please email it to me haha.

I pair this with Sunday Riley Good Genes. I put it on 5 minutes after my Luna oil. You usually would put Good Genes on before every Sunday Riley treatment, all except for Luna oil. It is a brightening treatment and lactic acid mask, that also hydrates fine lines, renews skin to reveal a vibrant complexion. It is promised with long-term use to restore damaged skin, reduce hyper pigmentation and reduce wrinkles.

On the two nights a week I do not use Luna oil or Good Genes, I use doctor prescribed Retin-A Micro. That has done wonders for my daily skin care. Acne and Wrinkles. I cannot provide a link for that because for medical grade you need to see a doctor, but I can provide you with some photos and information. When Retina-A is regularly applied to the skin it has been shown to unclog pores, while stimulating collagen growth. It also slows down your loss of collagen, which is why the sooner you start usage, the better in order to avert wrinkles. I have been using it off and on for years. It does make my skin flaky and peel a lot at first but eventually your skin does adjust. After you push through that initial flakiness, it actually gives your skin a glow while evening out skin texture. I always follow with moisturizer considering Retina-A dries out my skin. You should always wait 20 minutes before applying any other products to your face. Bonus…you can use it as a spot treatment to drastically reduce pimples overnight. Win win.

Speaking of hydration. When I’m needing that extra kick for my dry skin, my daily skin care go to is Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa. Thanks Aunt Vicki! My aunt turned me onto this product before we got it here in the US. It literally quenches my skin overnight. Those smart, smart people…they know that skin soaks up every bit of anything at night. It feels so luxurious and silky on your skin but without that expected price tag. It does not weigh your skin down or feel oily. In fact it feels amazing on your skin. Here’s the kicker….for $28! Come on, that’s insane. Honestly you wake up with your skin feeling like heaven.

Ok last but not least because your eyes are the window to the soul: Neocutis Lumiere Bio-Restorative Eye Cream. They sell this at my doctor’s office but I have found it on a couple of skin/beauty websites with a coupon. I’m always about saving some moolah, especially if I planned on buying it anyway. This eye cream has 30% more PSP (processed skin cell proteins) to smooth and soften fine lines and wrinkles. It revitalizes the eye area which is the thinnest and most fragile skin on our entire face and is more susceptible to damage. It hydrates and firms your under eyes and helps reduce the appearance of under eye darkness, while the caffeine helps the puffiness. It might have a hefty price tag, but trust me it’s worth it. Ps. again this is included in the 20% coupon with Skinstore.com right now. No I am not an affiliate for them, even though I wish I were.

Well that’s it. No, that is definitely not the only daily skin care products I use on my face. They are the top main products I use on a regular basis though. I swear by them. I cannot wait to share the other products I use that I also swear by. I can promise you if I don’t like a product I will tell you guys. 100%. I hope you enjoyed this blog. Let me know how you like these products if you already use them or if you try them. Please feel free to leave me a comment, drop me an email or go to my Instagram or Facebook page to let know what you wanna read or how you feel about what I’m posting. Have a great night! This old lady is heading to bed, it’s past my bedtime.
